Emotional factors that mediate the relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological problems in emerging adults

In the last decades, rates of depression and anxiety in emerging adults have increased compared to other age groups. The aim study was examine relationship between emotional intelligence psychological problems, considering mediating role factors such as empathy, self-esteem, happiness. participants were 399 young (M= 20.38, SD= 2.46, 76.9% women) who completed an assessment dossier that included measures intelligence, happiness, symptoms, somatic complaints. A cross-sectional design with self-report data used structural equation modeling (SEM) mediation analysis performed. Emotional positively associated negatively anxiety, depression, stress, Happiness most relevant mediator symptoms. These results stress need promote development abilities adults, which fosters happiness good mental health.
